I kind of wish I had anything intelligent to say about the anniversary of the fall of the Berlin wall, any meaningful memories to share, because I certainly was old enough to have them, but to be perfectly honest, my mind comes up embarrassingly blank. What I do remember rather vividly is reading about Ceausescu's death, I guess because my best friend at the time was from Romania.
Strangely enough it's the time before that I have stronger memories of. I remember reading Level 7 early in middle school and being scared. I remember my great aunt talking to me about neutron bombs. I remember a time when this song was relevant.

Date: 2009-11-10 03:21 am (UTC)I am more connected to memory with regards to Tian'anmen Square massacre. I had just signed up for cable that allowed me to watch the newness of CNN. I think perhaps it is this event that was CNN at its finest despite its infancy and the only 24 hour news outlet. Now...well CNN has been falling down the tubes since the "Situation Room" was erected for post 9/11 "terrorism" news and the firing of Aaron Brown.
