[Translates as 'Greek almond cake', but I rather doubt the recipe is actually even remotely Greek. On the other hand, unlike all the other recipes I've posted I haven't seen this, or a version of it, anywhere else so far, so if this looks familiar, let me know...]
You need:
# 120 g butter (not too cold)
# 120 g powdered sugar
# 250 g flour
# 1 egg
# a pinch of salt
# 1 package (= 8 g) vanilla sugar
# 40 g chocolate (dark)
# almond halves
# Melt the chocolate in a pan over a pot of boiling water.
# Beat butter, sugar and vanilla sugar with a hand mixer until it's a creamy mass.
# Add the chocolate
# Add the egg.
# Add the flour and pinch of salt.
# The dough will still be a bit crumbly, so knead briefly by hand until it's a homogenous mass.
# Cut the dough in two halves.
# Roll out each half into a rectangular shape (not too thin).
# Put almond halves along the middle. It should look like this:
# Fold the sides over the middle so that the almonds are covered, and close the ends. The dough will probably crack a bit and you'll need to squeeze and pat the loaf into shape. I usually turn it upside down a few times, etc., until the overlapping sides are firmly closed. It should look like this:
# Cover with plastic wrap and leave in a cool place (or the fridge) overnight.
# Cut into thin slices.
# Bake at ca. 180 degrees until the cookies turn light brown and the almonds take on a bit of colour.
# Finished!
