Meme, because
carose59 tagged me.
People who have been tagged must, if they choose to participate, write their answers on their blog and replace any question that they dislike with a new, original question. Please italicize the new question if you do that.
1. What are your online user names?
These days I'm solitary_summer (or a version thereof, depending on what the site in question allows; underscore or space or neither) pretty much everywhere. I started out as vvero (since my first name is Veronika and I was new on the internet, and also boring), then used Rosa McGee for a while (after a character in Clive Barker's novel Sacrament) and, briefly, a variety of NIN/The Fragile related usernames before I found the current one and stuck with it.
2. Dogs, cats, or something else?
Have? Neither. Preference? Cats.
3. What's new in your life right now?
Very, very little apart from searching a new flat. The braces will come out in six weeks, but that hardly counts as right-now news.
4. How many colors are you wearing right now?
Red, black, grey, green, a sort of reddish-brown colour.
5. Are you an introvert or an extrovert?
Introvert, definitely.
6. What was the last book you read?
Good Omens (a reread). It's not actually the kind of book where you discover new depths or layers of meaning with the second reading, but it's still charming and fun and generally enjoyable.
7. Do you nap a lot?
Weeell. I'm rarely planning to nap. But when I'm overtired it happens that I'll come home, eat something, lie down and wake up hours later (and be awake until 3 am, perpetuating the messed-up sleeping pattern that caused the problem in the first place), but that hardly counts as napping, I guess. At any rate, my job doesn't favour naps.
8. If you had one night of passion with someone in the public eye of whom you're a fan, who would you like it to be?
I'm not even sure I'm a fan of anyone right now, much less someone I fancy. My mind just doesn't cross from noticing that someone's attractive into sexual fantasy land. And I don't really do the one-night-of-passion thing. Not to mention that no one famous would even look at me, so there's really no point. The last time I dreamt about that kind of thing was when I was a little teenage David Bowie fan.
9. Is there anything that has made you happy these days?
What is this "happy" that you speak of?
10. What's your current obsession?
Flat hunting, which is a sad and pathetic obsession. Watching seven seasons of Buffy was at least more fun.
11. How long does it take you to get ready in the morning?
From breakfast to being ready to leave the house, about 45 minutes. A bit longer if I wash my hair.
12. What websites do you visit regularly?
Oh dear. LJ, orf.at, spiegel.de, derstandard.at; various fandom related; more recently, various flat-hunting related, flickr...
13. Do you write fic? What was the last fic you wrote?
Not really. Very occasionally I start, and then the urge sort of peters out, and/or is killed by my perfectionism and the awareness that writing really isn't one of my talents. The last thing I didn't finish was a multi-chapter alternating POVs Jack/Ianto thing.
14. What's the last thing you laughed about?
Can't remember.
15. What's the last song that got stuck in your head?
Sort of stuck - Fly on the Wall by t.A.T.u. *facepalm*
16. What's the last movie you saw?
Same as last meme - Ice Age 2.
17. Would you enter into a relationship with your ideal partner, even if you knew he/she was seriously involved with/married to someone else and would never leave them?
No, as far as one can decide these questions in the abstract. At least I don't think so. It's setting oneself up for pain and heartbreak, because unless they have compelling non-emotional reasons not to leave, it means I'm not their ideal partner, apparently. And OTOH I don't like the thought of possibly breaking up a relationship, especially if there are children involved.
17p. Would you say that the expression "there is a chair for every ass" is correct?
I assume that's something like the German version where it's all about pots and lids and the fitting thereof? That there's someone for everyone? I sort of used to believe it, but after a while you look around and stop dreaming. It's the kind of thing my mother used to say, which should have told me something.
18. What is your favorite chocolate from a box chocolates?
If I could think of another even remotely intelligent question that hasn't been asked over and over, I'd probably change this... Can't really say. I don't like chocolates with liquid alcohol filling, or something too sweet and fruity, but everything else is okay.
18b. What is your favorite nut?
Depends on the context, I guess. In cake-context, walnuts. To eat, peanuts. Oh, and roast chestnuts in winter.
