Well.. it's been switched on. Let's hope we don't get swallowed up later. I know it's irrational, too, but even I started thinking last night: "What if this really is the last day of my life?"

I listen to ö1 occasionally, but I wish they streamed at a higher bitrate. I like their overnight program, which is a lot like ARD Nachtkonzert, but ö1 seems to play a more interesting variety sometimes. Usually, I listen to NDR Kultur or Bayern 4, or if I want something not classical (which isn't too often), Bayern 3. I live in a Radio black hole here, so I can't pick up any local stations. Joe bought me one of these for Christmas last year:

It accesses the internet over a wireless connection, attaches to my stereo system, and allows me to listen to radio from anywhere in the world. Since most of the German stations I listen to are broadcasting on the web at 128kbps or higher, it sounds just as good as FM, and I get to practice my language skills at the same time.

I almost edited in a 'it's been nice knowing you all' message, just in case, but then I thought that was a) stupid, or b) tempting fate, or a bit of both... :)

I blame watching too many SF series.
