Hot and sultry today, but when I stepped outside the shop, the wind was blowing, and it smelled fresh, nature-y, like the lime trees, whose scent is everywhere these days, like sun on dry grass...


Now there's the wet earth smell from someone watering the yard after a sunny, hot day. A bird singing.


I love these simple things, little bits of nature... they really help keeping me balanced and in touch with things, basics. Standing in the sun, smelling the wind and being almost happy...

I don't know what lime trees actually smell like, but the idea of the smell of lime trees is so beautiful...

It's linden trees in American English, I think, if that helps any?

They have a very sweet smell, not quite as heavy a scent as robinia trees, but in can be pretty intensive when whole avenues are lined with blossoming trees...
