Is it just me, or does shopping for clothes become more horrible each spring?

And this time it's not even about sizes.

Between the things I can't or won't wear (pastels, pink, white, ruffles, frills, and generally speaking the revival du jour, which mostly tends to result in shower-curtain patterns and materials or colours I swore off for all eternity when I put away my eighties wardrobe, &c.) during a two and a half hours shopping trip I didn't find a single item I was even tempted to try on.

Gah.

ETA: Also, H&M people? What about bras that are not padded/push ups? I'm perfectly content with B cup, thankyouverymuch. Or pants that are neither thongs nor the shorts kind?


Also, rain, rain, rain.

It's not just you. That is exactly why I don't go clothes shopping unless there is something specific I want.

Problem is, I *need* something to wear, and that's only barely an exaggeration. Two shirts in the wash & crisis ensues. But I absolutely refuse to dress in the stuff I'm seeing in the shops at the moment.

I like a simple, clear style, saturated colours, purple, dark greens, browns & such.... and I really feel too old to change my taste. *sigh*

I can totally sympathize with the padded/push-up bra thing. I HATE padded bras; I hate bras anyway, so why do they make them even more torturing than they already are? Gah! I'd turn feminist only to burn them all.
