I don't know why I'm even surprised that something written by RTD eventually turns out to be all kinds of tragic & depressing, even if it's from 14 years ago. Maybe it was the whole historical drama thing that inadvertently sent my mind on a wrong track? The sepia of the opening sequence? The fact that it doesn't have 'Torchwood' in the title?


But as green_maia said, you don't pick the stories as much as the stories pick you.
