Thank you, America.

I don't expect miracles or anything, maybe I'm too old and jaded for that, but, thank you. :)

Oh, wow. That was... a bit more than I expected, in every sense. Almost one and a half hours. Honestly, I don't think they're going to take me. I know very, very little about contemporary art and architecture in general, and I couldn't even begin to try to bullshit my way out of that, only tell them that I'm willing to learn. No Wiener Gemütlichkeit there, certainly. OTOH, they apparently already scared off the employees they took over from the bookshop that was there before, so it's kind of doubtful they find the person that comes readily equipped with all the knowledge they expect, especially if they're looking for someone to start in January. Then again, they could probably find someone in Germany (then again, that person would have to be willing to move...). Hm. Hm.

IF they're taking me ... then the first few months will be BigScaryHARD, especially right after Christmas without even a breathing space. OTOH it'd be a challenge. It would mean learning A LOT, doing something I can be proud of instead of pushing the same boring books from A to B and back again, or doing something not very different in another shop. I've stayed so long where I was, oh, all right, because I'm completely lethargic, but also because I liked the people and no other shop would have been that different, and on the downside might have had people I'd like less. This would be different. It might mean, well, probably not a career, but possibilities, a perspective, and more than just a 'job', eight hours to kill. And the impression I got is both of competence and solidity and people who know what they want and expect, which is reassuring after all the wishy-washy-ing I see at work all the time. I'm kind of scared, though...

Got a cranky e-mail today from our teacher that we haven't sold enough tickets yet to cover the cost & need to make more publicity, or else, no show. So I'm trying my best here... :)

Any lurkers/stalkers from Vienna with an interest in oriental dance? Who know someone with an interest in oriental dance? It's not just us pupils hopping around, some is professional and really good. Or again, if you just want to watch me embarrass myself on stage in a sequined bra, go right ahead! As long as you're paying € 12.- *g*

The phone number isn't mine, so don't bother calling, unless it's for tickets. And I'm not in any of the pictures either (d'uh), so don't get your hopes up. ;)
