hmpf.
Morning run aborted, shoes will be returned to the store, whose website claims they take back items even after first use. Cleaned the soles with a toothbrush, even.
(I feel kind of really stupid going to a specialised running equipment shop, what with 2-3 times 70 minutes a week, but my feet are so oddly shaped it might be worth it to try a place with a wider selection and a little more help with finding shoes that fit well.)
[tI's either not update for weeks almost, or document the process of failing to buy shoes in detail. ::sigh:: @ self]
[ETA: Returned! Bought! Ran over this sensor pad thingy, which revealed that I do indeed have broad feet (no surprise), the sales guy watched me run up and down the store several times to see if the shoes fit, they really feel comfortable and I've had Nike's before, which were fine, if too short.
Why I'm even mentioning all this, not that it is of particular interest to anyone, even myself, a fewmonths weeks days down the line, is to sort of pat myself on the shoulder, because not so long ago I was so shy, embarrassed and generally socially awkward that I'd have tried to make do with the non-fitting shoes, somehow, anyhow, rather than return them. Or go in a smallish shop where I actually have to talk to a sales person. So, ::patpatpat:: Progress!]
