Dec. 18th, 2004 12:32 amWhere has all the time gone so fast? It's hard to believe that in one week Christmas will already be over... harder to believe I'm still comparatively cheerful.
Weekend: The annual If I never see another Christmas cookie again, it won't be soon enough rant could be suspended with for once, much thanks to the little sister's boyfriend, who came over and was recruited to help with the dipping in chocolate-glazing which usually dregs out to unbearable lengths. Had even time to dye my hair.
Rest of the week was mostly work, work, work; skipped my morning run, and probably will until after Christmas, albeit with a guilty conscience - it's not even so much the cold, but between not getting enough sleep, getting up early and the exercise I end up being simply too tired at work, unable to focus.
Wednesday almost froze my toes off during a half an hour ride, pretty, but cold; got into a vaguely christmas-y mood visiting the Spittelberg Christkindlmarkt with my sister, drinking too many hot punches because I'm just too easily seduced by all those flavours.
More work, the customers are getting increasingly annoying and there's an ugly kind of desperation beginning to show, where just about every book gets bought.
In other boring news, got this book for a belated Krampus present from my parents, the money's worth of the two Gmundner plates my sister got. I've considered buying it for some time, but was kind of reluctant to spend € 30 on a mere picture book, however beautiful (it is truly lovely). And so I'm the perpetually geeky one with the books and the SF show DVDs who at 32 still doesn't have a matching set of plates, not that it much matters, because who is there to invite over?
Then again, who cares.
I promised her I'd finally glaze her fruit-bowl after the holidays, so I guess I'll have to get over myself, the whole angsty issue... I kind of want to, but mostly I'm shit-scared to get the clay out again after so long only to find there is nothing there, nothing within myself to express.
