"Meat" is one of my favorite Torchwood episodes, and Gwen's refusal to retcon Rhys was what started me loving her as a character.
One thing I find fascinating about that scene is how much it changes the power dynamic between Gwen and Jack. When Gwen tells Jack that he can retcon her if he wants but she refuses to retcon Rhys, that's when they both realize that Jack needs Gwen more than Gwen needs Jack - and therefore, while Jack is still technically the boss, he has no more power over Gwen.
