Actually did manage to go take that walk; from Nussdorf up the Kahlenberg and Leopoldsberg and down to Klosterneuburg; nothing exciting but rather nice, and at least I got to stretch my legs a bit. Russian vocabulary on my iPod on the underground & train, so there's that, too.

Lazy evening, reading (interrupted by Ch. on the phone with the biweekly horse update and half an hour of other stuff mostly related to her flute playing that I couldn't care less about, but she's one of the people who'll just talk at you and never stop), answering comments and watching TV with half an eye; bits of Apocalypto, I'm ashamed to say, but while Mel Gibson has become one of the people who make me avoid whatever he produces on principle, and, yes, it's the racist piece of crap everyone said it was, holy shit, the costumes. And then I channel surfed into Kama Sutra, and the first person I see is Suzie from Torchwood. Apparently there's really no getting away from it.

23:02, 11 hours until it's back to work, but sitting here with a glass of red wine, listening to JB, who sometimes really does make everything a little better & generally feeling rather mellow, for once I have to say it actually turned out to be a much better day than it looked like this morning.

(Also, um, new people? I'm not usually this inanely spammy. Really.)

Actually... I don't think of you as "spammy" at all. You're one of the few people whose entries I always look forward to reading -- even if you're only writing about mundane, everyday things. There are so few people on my friends list anymore who write about everyday life (work, TV obsessions, tiredness, moods, etc.) -- and that's what I like to read about because it helps me to connect with the person on the other side of the journal -- even if I'm not the greatest commenter in the world.

It seems that most people on my friends list these days are obsessed with either politics or babies. And while politics can usually hold my interest, I really tire of reading about babies and their diaper and breastfeeding habits, and of seeing pictures of babies and toddlers with food smeared across their faces -- which everyone aside me seems to find "cute." I don't know... maybe I'm just turning into a grumpy old curmudgeon.

Thank you. *blush* Personally I also love to read personal posts, but I always kind of imagine people would rather read, I don't know, political analysis, social criticism, whatever. Or just want the fandom posts and not the boring real life stuff. But in the end it's all part of me and I'm really too lazy to neatly separate it.

Politics I find too frustrating to post about, and I doubt I'll bother anyone with baby-related stuff - ever. I really don't get this either - I love my niece, but I don't actually need, or need to see, a gazillion photos of her.
