I can absolutely understand that. I was listening into the audiobook of 'Rot ist mein Name' recently since we had it at work, and that's a book I'd only read once and liked no more than moderately-ish, and it was so different from how I'd heard it in my head...
(btw, yesterday evening I was sitting in front of the tv, watching Bones & sipping wine from your Christmas present tea glass, because I've managed to break the last of my wine glasses... *g*)
