# Cat was visiting again yesterday evening, making herself comfortable (apparently the first couple of visits were reconnaissance missions), first occupying my chair in front of the computer and then sleeping on the sofa for an hour or so while I was up on my bed reading... It was kind of cozy, but while I do worry what's going to happen with her (someone from the house is still feeding her, and I guess she still lives in her late owner's empty apartment for the time being), I really can't keep her... she's used to coming and going whenever she pleases, to be outside in the yard... I can't confine her to solitude and boredom for nine hours a day, on 30m2.

# What TR has to say about Bush's re-election. I'm not automatically going into a bout of fangirlitude for him saying it at all, applauding his courage & whatnot (now granted I don't live in the US & can't really gauge the climate, but with Eminem outright calling Bush a 'monster', 'coward' and liar, it can't be quite as bad (yet); and if he loses a few fans over taking a political stance, good riddance) but I do love the wording... reason, sanity and compassion.

# Looked at more TV sets today & have pretty much narrowed down the choice (who knew that something so prosaic as buying TV could be so exasperating...) & ::sigh::, those LCDs are reallyfuckingimpressive. On the rational side of things, it's not only that I don't have that kind of money to spend on a TV, it also strikes me as faintly unethical to pay anything from € 2.000.- upward for something that only serves personal entertainment. But yeah, there's a tiny voice inside my head whispering wantwantwant.

# Bought APC's emotive, and (since it was a cheap offer) SOAD's Toxicity to replace my downloaded & self-burned copy. Also some Swedish type of Glühwein at the IKEA store...

# M. called, K. is sick, work tomorrow. I would be more annoyed if I hadn't expected something like that, much as I hoped it wouldn't happen...

Now don't get me wrong, I more or less agree with those artists who complain about file-sharing - if you look at it from any perspective other than the one of personal convenience, it is essentially theft -, but there's a certain irony in singing 'imagine no possessions, I wonder if you can' with such earnest emphasis on a copy-protected CD....

ETA: I also liked Passive better as Vacant in the rawer bootlegged version. And I rather prefer Pet to Counting Bodies Like Sheep to the Rhythm of the War Drums... on the one hand it's always nice to have one's interpretation proven right, on the other hand I also liked the, if not ambiguity of the original, than the fact that Pet was complex and subtle enough to be open to different interpretation and didn't have a very visible label ANTI-WAR SONG slapped on.
