Gah. At this time of the year I always despair of the fresh fruit available. Out of sheer frustration (and because they were cheap) I now have Red Delicious apples from Argentina, even if I normally make a point of buying local fruit and vegetables, or at least nothing that comes from further than the Mediterranean. My conscience tells me shipping apples from South America is really insane, especially as they were sold at a special offer for € 1.06 a kilo, but at least they taste fresh.


Can't wait for the strawberries.
