(no subject)

hothothot. and it's so much worse here in the city, in Maishofen at least it cooled down during the night...

but even so that vacation is best summed up by saying that by now i'm well & truly sick & tired of constantly wiping a mixture of sweat & sunscreen from my face & having my brain fried to the point where it's incapable of dealing with anything more intellectual than re-reading the HP books. er.

2 weeks and temperatures above 30C, up to 36C every. bloody. single. day.

some people apparently can enjoy this, but i found it oppressive in a slightly apocalyptic way. the glaciers looked grey & dirty and patches of snow i've never seen the mountains without were gone...


on the plus side, such as there is, i did manage to loose a bit of weight (i think) or at least achieve a minimum of fitness by forcing myself to go biking for 1 to 4 hrs a day & going on at least two and a half hiking tours. now i only have to find a way (not to mention the energy) to keep that up...
