1) We've got a lot of shows in common. I haven't yet seen any Who (I just watched Torchwood start to finish, and I'm starting it again), I only watched Andromeda casually and occasionally, I did the US version of QaF, I've got no idea who Bob and Rose are, and I just added Life on Mars to my Netflix Queue. Yes to everything else (including walking away from Smallville because of Lex).

2) That song is glorious; thank you for posting it.

3) I wish I had more to offer for depressing circumstances than distraction (in the form of interaction), but maybe distraction will help.

Andromeda was always something of a guilty pleasure, but on some level the show really fascinated me, at least for the first two seasons until Kevin Sorbo highjacked it. I started watching it on TV with German dubbing, and it's one of the very few cases where I actually still almost prefer the dubbed version, because Dylan sounded quite a bit more intelligent...

QaF:US I watched on TV, YouTube and borrowed DVDs, so never bought them myself; Bob and Rose is another of RTD's shows, if you can call it a show—it's one story divided in 6 or so episodes.

Glad you liked the song. I really love Kino, and I love the opportunities to discover Russian music that learning the language gave me. It's sad, because there is/was (Kino is actually from the 80ies!) so much fantastic stuff, and all that's known in Western Europe and the US is basically T.a.t.y.

Friday Night Lights Seasons 1 & 2 (I got them on sale, but I haven't yet watched)
Heroes Seasons 1 & 2 (I abandoned the show after Season 2)
Quantum Leap Season 1 (Weird thing about Quantum Leap--they couldn't get the rights for the music they originally used in the show for the U.S. DVDs, so they use generic music instead. The period music was such an integral part of the show that it's just not the same without it. If I had a region-free DVD player and could get my hands on the European disks, I'd own it all)
Stargate Atlantis Seasons 1 - 3 (I quit watching the show in Season 4 because I didn't like the way they handled Rodney and it kept breaking my heart)
Supernatural Seasons 1 - 4

I'm also watching Sanctuary (which I'm categorizing as a guilty pleasure), and White Collar (which I'm liking more than I expected to).

Re Russian Music: I don't know T.a.t.y. so now I have to do some research. (The only Russian artist I've actually heard is Vitas.)

Everyone else owns so much more than me! Ah well...

I've read

rm's post, and I really like her comparison with Ianto trying to keep Lisa alive, which I think is very to the point but... *sigh* I wish we could have new TW, because at least then fandom could and would move on to talking about something else, or finally resign itself to Ianto's death, but that doesn't seem to be happening any time soon, if ever. I've read through some of my early TW posts recently, and the comments and discussions there, and I'm still wondering why it all had to become so toxic and unpleasant, with defriending and everything. It seems actually a bit surreal...

You should keep watching Rome. I loved that show.

I'm definitely planning to. I liked it a lot too, but after I'd finished S1, the S2 box was still a very new release and a bit too expensive for my taste, and I figured I'd wait a bit, and then there was always something else I wanted to watch first...
