solitary_summerRandomly wondering at 1:45 am when I really should be sleeping, tomorrow being a work day and all... What's the big deal about Tool's 'Aenima'? I don't get it. I like 'Undertow' and absolutely adore 'Lateralus', but 'Aenima', this supposedly stroke-of-genius masterpiece? There are a couple of songs I rather like, but as a whole it just doesn't connect. To me it's trying too hard to be clever and artsy but only ending up being vaguely irritating. Were they aware that there would be German speaking people out there, who'd actually understand they lyrics of 'Die Eier von Satan'? And that's not even going into the image the song title evokes...
