Guilt dreams. Still feeling sick. Blah.
Consumerism gets at all of us... Or how else should I explain that the prospect of a DVD player makes me seriously consider buying the LotR DVDs despite the fact that so far I've rather emphatically disliked the movies? But everyone is saying how much of an improvement the uncut versions are... :: sigh :: I'm a media junkie.
On a totally random, early-morning-bitchy note, what never fails to annoy me is when people put '(sp?)' in a published text of any sort, unless they mean to indicate they couldn't care less about the subject/person/etc. in question. I realise not everyone, especially if they're native speakers can be as anal about spell-checking as I am, but on the other hand, why should I spend time reading something, when they couldn't be bothered to take what little time is necessary to check a dictionary site, or at least google a word/name, if nothing else?
This said, I love Google for quick spell-checking and grammar-editing purposes; especially whenever I'm uncertain about a phrase, usage of preposition etc, I " "- google and if I get 10 pages of results, preferable some semi-official ones at the top of the list, it's all good...
