It's strange, now that she's gone it's a lot easier, and I can rationalise that it was necessary, but knowing in advance that (and when) it was going to happen (while she didn't)... Rationally I know that you sometimes have to make these decisions when you own an animal, but on some level it still seems somehow horrible...
