There's chaos all around me, I still don't know whether or not I'll actually be able to move into the new flat on Friday, & consequently am pretty much on the verge of a nervous breakdown, although today is at least better than Friday, when I was pretty much hysterically crying on the phone with my mother for half an hour or so, and there are a million things I should do rather than watching figure skating videos on YouTube, but, damn.

Men's figure skating has become quite boring to watch since he quit.

Beautiful. And I think in times of high stress doing little thing that make you happy is absolutely vital in order not to lose your marbles. Hang in there. *hugs*

*hugs back*

I'm trying. Mal sehen, was sich morgen herausstellt... *zitter* Vielleicht ist ja die ganze Wohnung inzwischen eingestürzt. Oder das Haus in ein schwarzes Loch gefallen.

What on earth is the new landlord's problem?!?

Inability to pick up the phone and actually call me, even when he promised he would? I don't know. If the water damage can't be fixed any faster I understand that, but why can't he just tell me, instead of leaving me in the lurch like this, not knowing whether to postpone the move, not knowing what to tell my current landlord, and not being able to reach him since Friday evening. I'm expecting an email in my inbox tomorrow morning.

This says a lot about his inability to be a good landlord. Perhaps it is time to look for another place.

Sadly that isn't an option at the moment. My current landlord's daughter is already waiting to move in, and I already have a signed lease and paid for everything - realtor, etc.

Is there any way the realtor can help you either get more information from the landlord or get out of the lease? This is ridiculous.

I'm beginning to suspect people get like this as soon as they become landlords: my ex-landlady is/was incredibly hard to get a hold of, and the current one is the same - she seemed so nice and alert and cool when we signed the contract, and then she just - disappeared, giving evasie answers, not answering phone or emails... It's like the Secret Pact of Landlords or something.

Exactly. He was so nice and everything... he still is, on the phone, only he didn't call me back when he said he would and then went off on a nice holiday weekend without his cellphone while I was having a nervous breakdown. grrr.

She was very helpful - called me back almost within minutes, and he not much later, and it looks like I'll be able to move in on Friday, thank god.
