Seriously though: WORD. "The (to me) interesting relationships, whether it's love or friendship, are those that tell me something about a character's personality." That's exactly it.

And interesting point about Sheridan/Delenn having the dynamic of a male/male friendship. Makes sense, Delenn being such a strong character, who manages to be female without ever reverting to clichéd behaviour, and her relationship with Sheridan always having been on the same level, even acting as sort of a mentor in early S2, but never being to overbearing or condescending. There was this feeling that they were both learning from each other, changing as a consequence of the direct or indirect influence of the other. I always felt their relationship never could have worked without this equality being firmly established from day one.
